Description
Great piles of knobbly fava beans, buckets of wild asparagus, peas, strawberries and the first cherries, crates of tiny artichokes for preserving. This is spring at San Giovanni di Dio Market, where Market to Table begins.
When summer arrives the greens morph into pinks and reds and in autumn we look out for porcini and the first pumpkins. Market to Table is first and foremost seasonal and very vegetable focussed. For this special Gluten Free edition, we will create a menu that is just as tasty, seasonal, and traditional with a primo, a small meat or fish dish, a seasonal dolce and interesting local wines to accompany the lunch. It is a more a day cooking together than a lesson, where we will share tips and stories and culinary anecdotes along the way. The group is limited to 6 people so that everyone is able to participate in a very hands on way.
Alice will lead the class, together with 2 special Gluten Free cooks.
Start time is 9.30 am at Totem Garden Bar, Largo Ravizza , on the Circonvallazione Gianicolense – Tram 8 (currently bus) and Bus H. After a quick coffee we stroll up to Mercato San Giovanni di Dio. We normally finish about 15.30 at the studio, Via Giacomo Corradi 14a.
